Date of Defense 2009-06-23 Availability unrestricted Abstract In this work, we present some applications of the theory of General Relativity. First, weshow a numerical scheme to account for relativistic effects in the Global Positioning System.
Then, a couple of applications of astrophysical interest are worked out. These are the study
of the gravitational collapse of stars and the dynamical evolution of a three-dimensional
Einstein-Klein-Gordon field.
