The program was piloted with 31 gifted and advanced students in grades 6 and 7, and qualitative data on their performance is presented. Also presented here is a testof fraction proficiency that was developed to determine the level that students achieved at the end of the pilot program. The results of this test are presented and analyzed. The net contribution of this work is to present a starting point for a set of catch-up lessons on operations with fractions and to present a starting point for an assessment for testing fraction proficiency.
