Abstract This study examines the selected: Sofia Gubaidulina: Chaconne for Solo Piano in The Context of Her Life and Work. The first chapter provides a brief biography of Sofia Gubaidulina and an overview of her most important compositions. Chapter Two contains an overview of the solo piano works of Gubaidulina. Chapter Three examines the selected piano composition Chaconne from a formal and stylistic perspective.
